Our Story
A Love Letter to Retro Gaming
Retro Gaming Studios started in 2015 though I didn’t know it at the time. I was in Year 11, sitting in a business class, when I stumbled across a copy of The Simpsons: Hit & Run and a PS2 on Gumtree. I hadn’t played it in years, and something about it pulled me in. I thought, “Maybe I’ll play it and maybe I can even sell it for a little profit.”
That one game led to another, and before I knew it, I was spending my evenings cleaning discs, testing consoles, and getting lost in listings. I kept going through uni, studying business and using every assignment to build out what slowly became a real business.

From the start, I’ve always cared about the details removing stickers, cleaning cases, repairing old consoles. Not just because it makes things look better, but because it feels right. A used game should still feel special when you open it. That’s something I’ve always believed in, even when most resellers don’t bother.
In late 2022, I decided to sell the business and take time off to travel overseas. It was a big shift, and an amazing chapter in my life. But somewhere along the way, I realised how much I missed this. I missed the community, the care, and the feeling of giving something old new life again.

So now I’m back in Sydney, and I’ve relaunched Retro Gaming Studios with that same care and focus. It’s still just me behind the scenes cleaning, testing, shipping, and restoring things by hand. I still ship plastic-free. I still chase that satisfaction of making something feel whole again.
This isn’t a big company it’s personal. I love retro games. I’ve played them all my life, and now I get to keep them in my life by helping other people find them again, too.
Thanks for being here. It means a lot.
