This Return Policy outlines the terms and conditions for returning products purchased from Retro Gaming Studios ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Definitions:
- Manufacturer's/Standard Warranty: Any expressed or implied warranty offered by the original manufacturer for new products.
- Mechanical or Electrical Failure: A sudden and unforeseen failure of a product due to a mechanical or electrical fault, not caused by misuse, neglect, or external factors.
- Original Date of Purchase: The date on the purchase receipt/tax invoice from Retro Gaming Studios.
- Original Purchase Price: The amount on the purchase receipt/tax invoice.
- You/Your: The purchaser named on the receipt/invoice.
- Product: Any item purchased from Retro Gaming Studios.
What Our Return Policy Covers:
We accept returns for products with mechanical or electrical failures within 1 year from the original date of purchase. This covers defects that are not due to user fault.
What Our Return Policy Does Not Cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, liquid spills, power surges, improper handling, or unauthorised modifications.
- Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or minor imperfections that do not affect functionality (especially for pre-owned items where cosmetic condition is described in the listing).
- Damage during return shipping due to inadequate packaging.
- Data loss or corruption.
- Compatibility issues with third-party accessories or software.
- Products purchased from unauthorised sellers.
- Change of Mind: We do not accept returns for change of mind. Please choose your products carefully.
Returning a Product:
- Contact Us: You must contact our customer service team via [Phone number/Email address/Contact form] before returning any product to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA number may not be accepted.
- Packaging: All returned products must be securely packaged to prevent damage during transit. Include all original accessories and packaging (if available).

What We Will Do:
Upon receiving the returned product, we will assess it.
- If the product is covered by warranty: We will, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the original purchase price.
- If the product was not as described: We may offer a partial refund.
- If the product is lost in transit during return: We will issue a full refund (provided you used a trackable shipping method and have proof of postage).
- If the product was damaged in transit during return due to insufficient packaging by the customer: The warranty will be voided.
Limitation of Liability:
Our liability is limited to the original purchase price of the product. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits.
Force Majeure:
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations if such failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including1 strikes, labor disputes, government regulations, natural disasters, or other similar events.
Australian Consumer Law:
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement2 or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.3
